Our Process

Our Process

What to Expect

Initial Meeting:
The first step is to get partnered with a sales representative to share the vision for your product. We will establish a timeline for your project based on your demands, and outline the necessary components to bring your product to life.

Sketch:
Within the next week, our team of in-house design engineers will translate your ideas into a sketch of a package that conforms to our manufacturing requirements. This drawing will be submitted with a quote for your approval.

Prototyping:
Once you approve our sketch and agree on pricing, within two weeks we’ll create the first prototype mold from REN Board to create sample parts for your approval. Most times the prototype parts need to be amended as you test the functionality of the parts in your workflow, shipping requirements and the like. We allocate time and resources to work with you until you are confident that the final product will fit your function.

Production:
Once you approve the prototype parts, our in-house team of mold makers will begin building the tooling assets to create your product. They will test and refine the tool and then submit samples of production parts to your team. After you give approval from the production part, we will begin manufacturing your parts order.

The Thermoforming Process:
We often say “thermoforming is more of an art than anything else.” It is not a set it and forget it process, as it requires careful monitoring and adjustments influenced by the type and thickness of the material, ambient and mold temperatures, humidity and etc. With our 68 years of experience, Bardes Plastics has the skills set required to manufacturer flawless innovative packaging.

Support:
We do not consider our job to complete until our packaging is smoothly integrated into your production line. Your sales representative will always be available via cell or email to troubleshoot any issues that might arise. Bardes Plastics has always, and will always strive to be your “partner in profit.”

History

Bardes Plastics has been bringing high quality plastic packaging to the marketplace for nearly seventy years. The A.G. Bardes Company was created in 1951 by Albert Bardes, specializing in thermoformed and vacuum-formed plastic containers. Mr. Bardes was a visionary, and with his sights set on the future importance of plastic packaging, he built what was a cutting-edge manufacturing facility at its current location. Maintaining leadership of the company well into his 90’s, Mr. Bardes’ focus on customer service and attention to detail were always the cornerstones of his business. Presently, Bardes Plastics supplies specialty food and industrial plastic containers across North America. We currently distribute to grocery, restaurant, automotive and industrial organizations and our customer partnerships continue to grow.
